It’s all about ‘words’ this session without the use of an embroidery machine. No matter what type of machine you have you will be able to achieve some form of monogramming. As a secondary subject we will revise on how to make a large buttonhole.
Monogramming without an embroidery machine
If you wish to stitch out monograms/names/words but do not own an embroidery machine then you can achieve some simple monograms quite easily using a standard sewing machine.
Ideas will include using:
Foot F2 or the Applique Foot and a zig-zag stitch or fancy stitch
Cording Foot H and cord
Free Motion stitching
Please note that this will not be an applique technique but more of a clever use of thread stitching.

If you have a sewing machine with built-in lettering you can stitch out names/words to either a 7mm or 9mm width (depending on your machine model). We will refresh memorising your lettering, where to find such buttons as ‘spaces’ and unique ways of layout.
Buttonholes with Foot B
Sometimes you have an occasion arise where you need to make a large buttonhole but the button will not fit into the sensor buttonhole Foot R; a demonstration of how to make a buttonhole with the transparent buttonhole foot B will be given.
